Resolved Question: What cheap train Station can I take from Waterbury, CT to Manhattan, NY?

So I have a trip planned for my younger brother and sister along with my bestfriend and boyfriend. to go see the Madam Tausauds (sp?) Wax Muesam in Town Square..I know there are no trains that will take us directly there..but I've been looking online EVERYWHERE and there is one for Waterbury and my Boyfriend says we'd have to switch trains onto one in Bridgeport...so from there online I cannot for the life of me find one that says Manhattan..so which one would you suggest because I heard of some that are as little as 15 bucks a person..or a little more..so can anyone tell me which one goes into Manhattan some people tell me there is one but idk which one..and I am doing this trip next summer and I want to be able to save enough for us to have fun with taking the train to most likely taxi fare and then the muesam and everything back..oh and to switch trains from Wtby to Bridgeport..do I pay for that train? or is it like a bus ? sorry I'm so dumbfounded about trains went on one once with my grandma and she took care of everything..anyways thanks in advance...
